I Am Blessed...

to be married to my best friend. Jeff always tries to make me laugh (even when I don't want it), listens to my ramblings about the kids, school, etc and lets me choose the paint colors for our house! Jeff celebrated his birthday today by taking care of Olivia, who was puney.
We also just celebrated our 8th anniversary last week! We have had a great 8 years and lots to show for it. Wow, it did go by fast.

I love you Jeff! Thank you for being you.

Daniel's room, continued

Here's another shot of Daniel's room - with a red D, new curtains and Teris' paintings. What do you think? I've still got the wall with his dresser to go... any ideas?

Now, the Fun Rooms

Olivia has been dying to have her room painted pink. And who knows how long that will last... so her room is now changed from a light, sage green to "petal" pink - picked out by the princess herself. Before and After

Little Miss Decorator also knew that Daniel's favorite color must be blue and his room must be blue. So, we got some big boy furniture and here ya go.

We've got some work to do hanging pictures and such in both rooms. But we are very pleased how the paint turned out. Any suggestions from here? Daniel has a ball theme - we'll be hanging the paintings by Teris soon!

A little paint goes a LONG way

I've been waiting patiently (?) all summer to get the kids' rooms and my kitchen and hallway painted. Here's some before pictures...

And here are the after photos - I hope you can tell how much brighter and cheerier the paint is now. I'll have pictures of the kids' rooms soon!

Our St Louis Vacation, part 2

Okay, so I'm rehashing the St Louis trip cause http://www.wearethatfamily.com/
is having a Sizzling Summer Celebration Giveaway.

If you ever get a chance to go to St Louis, go to the Magic House, Children's Museum. My kids (and the adults) had a great time exploring and playing with all of the interactive activities. I had always wanted to do the "static hair experiment ball thingy" - and here is a picture for your enjoyment. I was laughing hysterically the entire time - I could see myself in a mirror. Note: no moms were injured for this picture and if you try this yourself, it won't work with wet hair, right Paige?

We also went to the St Louis zoo during our visit. It is a clean, free zoo with lots of different animals. My husband especially liked the reptile house and all the creepy snakes. If you are there in October, they have a fabulous Boo at the Zoo with trick or treating, crafts, and characters to meet.

So, we didn't get to go on an extended 14 day vacation to a tropical location (or hunting location, if Jeff chooses), but we did have a wonderful weekend visiting my sister and brother-in-law in the city they call "The Gateway to the West".

Happy 7th, A-Belle!

The kids helped a dear friend, Abigail, celebrate her 7th Birthday this past Sunday. We played outside, ate cake and ice cream, helped open gifts and helped play with the gifts!
Here the girls all "help" Abigail wih her new stamp set. Olivia came home and played with notecards the rest of the day.

Old Favorite for the Kids

Friday night the kids got to have a new experience - a drive-in movie! We saw "Space Chimps" in C. City with Aunt Vanessa, Heather and Cousins Alex, Jacob and Devon. The kids liked watching the movie outside and eating all the snacks we brought. I imagine we'll do this again!
